After a cocktail hour or a seated meal, dessert is often the most photographed — and most talked-about — moment of the event. A carefully plated petit four, served in an individual portion, leaves a stronger impression than a simple cake cut and handed out in a line.
Individual plating has an obvious practical advantage: every guest gets an identical portion, with no queue and no uneven slicing. For a banquet of several dozen or several hundred guests, it's also a major time saver on service — trays can be plated in advance and distributed quickly.
On the creative side, natural containers like hollowed-out citrus fruit, small glasses or little dishes let you step outside the classic dessert plate. An orange or grapefruit shell filled with whipped cream and fresh fruit (kiwi, strawberry, mango) brings colour and a welcome freshness at the end of a meal, while staying simple to replicate at scale.
For a wedding or corporate event, we generally recommend 2 to 3 different petit fours per guest rather than a single large dessert: it varies the textures (creamy, crunchy, fruity) and suits different tastes without multiplying portion sizes.
These desserts fit naturally into our cocktail packages and event buffets — they can also complement a wedding cake or main dessert for a more generous finish to your reception.
